Term & Condition
This will apply to the Customers who accept our terms during the account
opening process and signing up with the YAP Pakistan Application.
1. Introduction
Welcome to YAP Pakistan. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our services, including account creation, digital payments, and debit card access. By registering and using the YAP Pakistan app, you confirm that all provided information is accurate and that you agree to comply with these Terms.
2. What You’re Agreeing To
You must provide accurate information and keep it updated. These Terms form a legal agreement between you and YAP Pakistan. You are encouraged to keep a copy for future reference. To use YAP, you must be a
- Be a Pakistani national, age 18+
- Hold a valid CNIC or NICOP
- Have a registered mobile number (biometrically verified)
- Provide personal info (address, photo, etc.) and accept these Terms
- Only one account per CNIC/mobile number is allowed
3. Definition
- Account: Your registered relationship with YAP Pakistan to use its services through the mobile application.
- Application: The mobile app owned or licensed by YAP Pakistan (Private) Limited.
- Applicable Laws: All relevant laws, regulations, court decisions, and directives binding in Pakistan.
- Company: YAP Pakistan (Private) Limited, located at Plot # 34, Abdul Haque Road, Block J3, Johar Town, Lahore, Pakistan.
- EMI: An Electronic Money Institution as defined by SBP regulations.
- EMI Regulations: The rules governing EMIs as defined by SBP under Circular No. 1 of 2019.
- E-Money: As defined in the EMI Regulations.
- Helpline: The official YAP Pakistan support line for app-related issues.
- NADRA: National Database and Registration Authority.
- Pilot Phase: The initial phase during which the Company operates under EMI Regulations.
- Payment Services: Include loading funds into the account and making payments such as mobile top-ups, bill payments, online transfers, and more.
- SBP: State Bank of Pakistan.
The agreement between you and YAP Pakistan covering your use of the application.
4. Your Account & Wallet
- Your account is a PKR wallet—funds do not earn interest.
- You alone control the money in your wallet.
- Funds can be added via bank transfers, debit cards, or other YAP wallets; withdrawals are through ATMs.
- Fees, if any, are shown clearly in-app and deducted automatically.
5. Security & Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for protecting your account credentials.
- Keep your PIN/passcode private—don’t share it.
- Use the freeze feature or call our Helpline immediately if your PIN, phone, or card is lost.
- Report any unauthorized transactions within 24 hours.
- You’re responsible for keeping your details accurate and secure.
6. Card Usage & Limits
Your debit card can be used to make payments and withdraw money.
- Daily ATM limit: PKR 10,000 for biometric users.
- Monthly transaction limits vary based on verification level.
- If lost or stolen, freeze the card immediately and inform us within 7 days.
7. Payments & Transaction Rules
Use your wallet responsibly and within compliance limits.
- Sufficient balance is required for all payments.
- Transactions violating laws or limits may be declined.
- You can restrict specific categories (e.g., gambling) from settings.
8. Fees & Charges
YAP applies transparent service fees for certain transactions and services.
- All applicable charges are clearly listed in the in-app Fee Schedule (SOC).
- These may include fees for loading money, making transfers, or ATM withdrawals.
- If your wallet doesn’t have enough funds to cover the fee, your access to services may be temporarily restricted.
We ensure there are no hidden costs—every fee is displayed before you confirm a transaction.
9. Privacy & Data Use
We collect, store, and use your personal data to meet legal requirements, enhance your security, and deliver a seamless experience.
- We may gather details such as your IMEI number, identity documents (like CNIC/NICOP), live photo, address, and other information you provide during registration or use of the app.
- This information is stored securely and accessed only when needed to fulfill legal obligations, perform identity verification (KYC), or comply with audits and inspections.
- We may share your data only with authorized entities like the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), NADRA, or licensed third-party compliance partners.
- Communication related to your account, updates, or alerts may be sent via the mobile app, email, or SMS to keep you informed and compliant.
We are committed to protecting your personal data. It will never be used for marketing without your consent or shared with unauthorized third parties.
10. Intellectual Property
Everything inside the app—from the code to the design—is owned by YAP Pakistan.
- The app interface, branding, logos, and system logic are protected by intellectual property laws.
- You are not allowed to copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the app or its content.
- Any unauthorized use may result in legal action or account suspension.
We reserve all rights related to the app’s ownership, design, and functionality.
11. Liability & Disputes
While we aim to provide a reliable experience, some limitations apply.
- We are not liable for indirect losses, service interruptions, or issues caused by your negligence.
- You are responsible for monitoring your account activity and promptly reporting errors.
- In the case of failed, duplicate, or incorrect payments, we will assist in recovery where possible—but success is not guaranteed.
Our support team will always try to help, but our liability is limited to reasonable corrective actions.
12. When We Can Terminate Your Account
Your account may be closed either by you or by us under certain conditions.
- We may provide 24-hour prior notice before account closure in standard cases.
- Immediate suspension may occur if we detect fraud, unlawful activity, regulatory intervention, or a breach of Terms.
- If your account has a remaining balance, you’ll be given a window to withdraw it.
Termination is always carried out with appropriate cause and, where possible, advance communication.
13. Changes to These Terms
YAP Pakistan reserves the right to modify, update, or revise these Terms and Conditions at any time to reflect changes in applicable laws, regulatory requirements, operational needs, or enhancements in our services. Minor changes—such as clarifications or adjustments that do not significantly affect your rights—may become effective immediately upon being published within the YAP app. However, for major revisions that materially impact your obligations, features of the service, or the way we process your data, we will provide you with advance notice of at least 30 days through appropriate communication channels such as in-app notifications, email, or SMS. By continuing to use the YAP Pakistan services after any such updates take effect, you acknowledge and agree to the revised Terms. We strongly encourage you to review these Terms periodically to remain aware of your rights, responsibilities, and any modifications that may affect your relationship with us.
14. Complaints & Support
If you face any issues while using YAP Pakistan, we’re here to help. You can reach out to us anytime through the YAP app, email us at help@yappakistan.com, or call our helpline at 042‑111‑212‑434. If you’re submitting a complaint, please clearly mention it so we can prioritize and handle it promptly. We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 48 hours and work on a resolution as per our internal process. Your feedback is important to us and helps improve our services.
15. Governing Law
All terms, conditions, and services provided by YAP Pakistan are governed by the laws and regulatory framework of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. By using our services, you agree that any disputes, claims, or legal matters arising in connection with your YAP Pakistan account, transactions, or the interpretation of these Terms will be subject to and interpreted in accordance with Pakistani law. Furthermore, you accept that the courts of Lahore shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all such disputes, regardless of where you reside or where the transaction originated. This ensures a clear legal framework and consistent dispute resolution process for both parties involved.
